New Statement Necklaces

Today I wanted to show everyone my new statement necklace that I got over the weekend at my Carinos-by Eydee Trunk Show!!( https://www.facebook.com/carinosby.eydee?fref=ts ) We had the best time hanging out with friends/family, shopping fabulous accessories and I got to meet so many new fabulous ladies!

I paired my coral statement bauble necklace with just a black dress, I felt this look was super chic and let the necklace do the talking! Also new from the Trunk Show are my midi-ring and my talon-ball bracelet! I stuck with sandals as to help make the look summery.

FYI....... you can wear black in summer, it is a timeless color, it is just all about how you accessorize it!

Summer Fabrics

Today I wanted to show you two summery fabrics that I paired together to keep my cool during this super HOT summer day! I hope this helps you know what to look for while you are out shopping or picking out your outfits!
My top is chambray which is made from 100% cotton, this means that it breathes really well and helps to keep me cool. My skirt is cotton/nylon blend and sort of like a crape texture, the best part of the skirt is the lining! It is a mesh which is so light and airy for me while it is 100 degrees outside today.
I finished off my look with my Aldo studded loafer and a fabulous Carinos (https://www.facebook.com/carinosby.eydee?fref=ts) that pulled the color of my skirt up, and finally a bright fuchsia lip...which is a drug store find Maybelline Hot Plum!

Utility Vest

This is yesterday's outfit, I am a day late with the post but I really liked my outfit and wanted to show you!

It was rainy all day yesterday so I chose to wear a utility vest with a hood so I didn't have to worry about carrying around an umbrella. I decided to pair it with a dressier top and pair of bright shorts!

70's Chic

Well today I just had to show you this great dress I just bought from Marshalls for under $30!!
I love the chic 70's vibe, I feel like I am just missing a wide brim hat a la Rachel Zoe.

I purchased this dress yesterday at my local Marshalls (one of my favorite stores), I loved the colors and silhouette. When I got home I started outfit building right away!
First I pulled out these Kenneth Cole navy suede, gold trim, stacked heels that I have owned for years. Then I knew I wanted long layered necklaces because I felt it would help play up that 70's feel. I realized I don't have many long necklaces but I did so happen to have two that went perfect with my dress! I was able to pull in some of the emerald color in with my necklace, earrings and rings!

Dresses are one of the easiest things to wear because all you really have to do is add accessories and you have a complete look! Check out your local Marshalls to see what dresses you can find!!

Plain V-neck Tee

Today I wanted to show you how I dressed up a plain V-neck neon tee! This is a great summer option as t-shirts are easy to wear during this time of year!

I decided to pair it with my silky animal print haram pants. I love the neon color of this tee and how it looks when paired back to a dresser material. I love the idea of mixing dressy and causal, and that is what I was going for here.
I played up the dressier element with my accessories like my tribal piece necklace with rhinestones, my gold watch with bracelets, my black and gold skinny belt and gold bottom platform heels.

Finally, I topped my look off with a bright orange lip from MAC called Good to Go, which is a fab color for summer!

How can you dress up a plain V-neck tee?

Olive as a Neutral

Today I wanted to show you how great Olive is as neutral or base color. I have believe for sometime, that Olive should be in every ones closet (men and women!) It really is true neutral color and can be utilized as you would a Black, Brown or Navy. It's a really fab neutral for summer because it pairs with bright and neon very easily, even easier then a Black because it is not as harsh of a contrast.

You can see below that I paired a Olive pair of haram pants with two bright pieces. First I pulled my Magenta silk tank, then I  knew I wanted another bright contrast, so I went with my Coral floral printed crop cardi! I also know I wanted to wear heels today because I had not worn any during the whole July 4th weekend, it was due time!! I chose a pair of Bone colored, patent leather, close toe platforms. I love this platform because it is super comfortable to wear all day due to the fact that the bottom is cork, so it is easy on the feet! And they make me super tall!!

I finished my look off with a matching Bone colored statement necklace, and one of my favorite watches, I kept my jewelry pretty subtle (for me) today! And finally a bright Magenta lip!

When you are out shopping this summer look for some Olive to add into your closet, try to go for pieces that can versatile and used as a base to pair your brighter colors with!

Shades of Pink!

Today I decided that I wanted to pair all different shades of pink together!

I actually started with my earrings and lipstick, after I pulled my hair back (will talk about this below), I knew I wanted to wear a great pair of earrings! That is when I founds these powder pink little gems, another if my CariƱos-by Eydee pieces. (https://www.facebook.com/carinosby.eydee) I then put on my fuchsia lipstick and it dawned on me, it would be great if I did my whole outfit in shades of pink!
Then I  pulled out a pink pair of shorts that I owned, they are a little big on me now so I simply cuffed the hem and made it look as if they are to sit low and slouchy. Then I picked out hot pink silk tank that is pretty close in color to my lipstick, funny enough! I knew I wanted another light pink item to help pull the color of the earring into the color palette, that is why I choose this pale pink cardi.
As I stated above, prior to me picking our my outfit, I did my hair first. I simply started with a front side twist, then pulled the rest of it back into a side pony. Once, in the pony tail I stated bobby pinning random pieces up, I left some longer pieces to give it a bit of the undone vibe. I actually really like the way it turned out and might start to become a common hairstyle for me this summer.

Funny side note: While in my closet looking for pink items, the line from a very famous movie kept running through my head "My colors are blush and bashful........Your colors are pink and pink"

 Can anyone name the movie??

Cut Offs: Casual to Classy

Today's look was inspired by a blog I read called, Glitter Guide. A few weeks a go they did a piece on "10 Ways to Style Cut Off Shorts" (http://theglitterguide.com/2013/06/27/10-ways-to-style-cut-off-shorts/) I knew I had this pair of cut off denim shorts that I had yet to wear, so after reading that I was inspired to try and make them look a little more ME!
I started with the cream colored button down, this is a classic piece that every girl should have in her closet, I liked that it was long sleeve and very loose, as the shorts are a little short it was nice to cover up the top half of me, MODESTY is always a plus! Then I added a gold belt, I felt it helped add a little class to the over all look, and I needed the support to insure the shorts stayed up. I added a gold chain necklace and gold cuff bracelet, what is more classic than cream and gold together!! Now, wanting to stay casual looking I went with a pair of cream strappy sandals with gold studs, I thought the studs help to pull in a little bit of the detail from the short.
I did my hair down and tried to get a "beach wave" (sort of worked) and went with a really pretty pink lip color, while it is not super bright it still gives some great color!
